Oak Ridge & Harkaway Hills College Overview

Oak Ridge is a 19 lot residential subdivision located within the established semi-rural township of Narre Warren North. Harkaway Hills College is a new private school with over 300 students that was previously was running off an on-site septic sewer treatment facility that was at capacity.

Delplant was responsible for the following works:

• Construction of a 450 metre outfall sewer in the middle of existing roads to connect Harkaway Hills College & Oak Ridge to reticulated sewer.
• Construction of a 150 metre outfall extension to connect Harkaway Hills College to reticulated sewer.
• Construction of internal sewerage for Oak Ridge.
• Construction of all internal water pipelines for Oak Ridge including boring under A’Beckett Road to connect to existing water network.
• Construction of all internal gas pipelines for Oak Ridge including boring under Hallam-Belgrave Road.
• Construction of a retaining wall.
• Trenching for NBN.
• Installation of granitic sand and concrete footpath.
• Site management including tree removal, fence removal, traffic management, site presentation and asphalt reinstatement works.

There was many factors involved with delivering that made this a complex job:

1. Excavating 6no. shafts at up to 5.5 metres in depth in Winters Lane and Tom Jones Court.
2. Working under low powerlines.
3. Locating existing services, both live and redundant, that didn’t exist on DBYB docs.
4. Working in accordance with VicRoads Restrictions including strict 9:00am to 3:00pm work hours due to works requiring us to work on Hallam Belgrave Road.
5. Working in accordance with Cultural Heritage Management Plan.
6. Working in accordance with Arborist Reports.
7. Traffic Management including the closure of Winters Lane and Tom Jones Court.
8. Managing the interest of various stakeholders including the developer, local residents, Harkaway Hille College, Narre Warren North Primary School and Narre Warren North Tennis Club.

Delplant successfully and safely delivered the project on time and on budget.
